RCVS

Overview:

Established in 1944, The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)aims to enhance society through improved animal health and welfare. They set, uphold and advance the educational, ethical and clinical standards of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses. Tallboy has been working with The College for over eight years.

The brief:

The RCVS wanted to make a film to re-launch the Practice Standards Scheme to its membership. The Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK. Through setting standards and carrying out regular assessments, the Scheme aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

The approach:

Tallboy has an ongoing partnership relationship with the college going back several years. Our first discussions with the communications teams we offered different ideas and styles before deciding on character animation.  We used a series of hand drawn vets, nurses and animals and a clearly spoken voice over to explain the re-launch. The idea the animated character style the viewer engage with the film and to get the message across effectively. The steady pace of delivery make the content digestible and easy to understand.

The results:

“We enlisted Tallboy’s help once again to produce a video to promote our new veterinary practice accreditation scheme to the veterinary profession. It’s a complicated subject, with an awful lot of variable information to get across. Tallboy suggested that animated infographics would be the most effective way to convey this in a short space of time, and we loved the idea. Because it was so complex, the project took a very long time, in fact it became one of Tallboy’s longest projects to date! But, they were very patient and stuck with us, and we’re delighted with the end result. The video also went down well at our launch event, and with the profession generally, and has certainly played its part in attracting new applications to join the scheme – over four times higher compared to the same time last year!”

Signalling Solutions is a leader in the provision of train control solutions in the UK, offering a complete range of services from design to full project delivery.

The brief:

The client required a promotional film designed primarily for use at a trade show events and online to promote the unique offering of Signalling Solutions. The video needed to be visually striking, with a strong, futuristic feel consistent with imagery across the company’s existing branding.

The Approach:

We used sophisticated full 3D imaging with Elegant transitions between scenes to create a narrative flowing from visual connections between each image including dramatic ‘camera’ moves to add to the overall polish, finesse and impact of the film.

In terms of visual style, the film maintains the futuristic, fluorescent blue line effect of the existing branding on the clients print campaign, The futuristic 3D treatment is enhanced by including segues into real word action, demonstrating the benefits that Signalling Solutions brings to rail operators and passengers on the ground.

On-screen text was used to reinforce the connection between each macro image and the real world scene into which it transitions – e.g. ‘Proven technology keeps your customers moving on time…’

“I’d be more than happy to work with Tallboy again. I’m confident about the end result, they’re very creative guys who do a very good job and I’d be happy to recommend them to other organisations”

Ofcom

Ofcom is the communications regulator. They regulate the TV and radio sectors, fixed line telecoms, mobiles, postal services, plus the airwaves over which wireless devices operate.  OFCOM launched an initiative to simplify and demystify the range of calling rate from landlines and mobile phones

The brief:

OFCOM were looking for a shot video guide (2-3 minutes) for online viewing aimed at the general public. The objective was to simplify and demystify the wide range of calling rates from landlines and mobiles. The video should be simple and effective in illustrating practical tips and advice on how to tackle nuisance calls.

The Approach:

We used an animated whiteboard style of video to effectively communicate the key messages. Whiteboard Animations videos present an idea or message in the form of live whiteboard drawing by an artist. This is a creative, clear (sometimes hypnotic) and concise way to share information through graphics. The viewer is led through the whole process from the birth of an idea to its growth and evolution, making the idea easier to understand. Whiteboard animation videos are more than just the presentations. They are pieces of art. Like any other art, these animations have the capability to influence and educate their viewers.

hVIVO is a rapidly growing UK life sciences company pioneering a technology platform which uses human models of disease to study new drugs and investigate disease in a safe, controlled environment.

The brief:

hVIVo were looking to develop a short (30s to 1m) corporate video to show the move from the old company name and brand of Retroscreen Virology to the new name and brand of hVIVO. The video would be used to communicate the new company name and branding to employees, customers, partners and investors, and would be shown on line and at company events.

The Approach:

The corporate video shows the old Retroscreen Virology logo morphing into the new hVIVO logo using motion graphics and animation. The video also included sections of scientific footage, taken from previous work, to add some visual variation and to set some context about the work of hVIVO.  A scripted series of titles are used across the images to explain the rebrand.

“Retroscreen have commissioned a number of audio visual projects with Tallboy Communications now, including both external/public and internal staff communications. They are a professional organisation that have delivered well, on time, and in budget. And all in a pragmatic, practical and customer-focused manner. GSK

GSK is a science led global health care company with a goal to help people do more, feel better and live longer. They were launching a new innovative toothpaste called Aquafresh.

The Brief:

The client wanted a product launch video that would show the new toothpaste brand to be exciting, cutting-edge and highly desirable so that the audience would be wowed and want to try the toothpaste.

The Approach:

As this was a new product launch we were not able to get any footage of the product being used in real life.  We used a motion graphics approach to show the product in an innovative and technical way and edited in product shots that had been taken during previous focus group discussions about the new toothpaste.
