Rio Tinto – Olympics

Rio Tinto was proud to be the Official Precious Metals Provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  It takes eight tonnes of gold, silver and copper to make the 4,700 Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals for the Games.

The brief:

Rio Tinto needed a short and snappy internal communications video to announce their involvement in the 2012 Olympics. They wanted to build employee awareness of the Olympic medal sponsorship, and generate pride and excitement in this partnership.  They were looking for something less corporate than their usual internal communications videos, that clearly communicated the story of their involvement ‘From Mine to Medal”

The Approach:

This corporate video featured Interviews with key staff and Olympian Jonathan Edwards, along with dynamic footage of the Olympic Park being built and footage of both Olympian and Paralympian athletes in action.
